Sept 1 home

We started packing bags up as much as we could so it would be easier to unload the RV. We did what we could and started for home. It was an OK drive at least it didnt rain.

We knew we were in Florida because we saw:

Palm trees!

Yes, you don’t miss them until you see them and go ah! We drive to our home. We get such looks daring to bring a 40 ft RV into a gated community! We are just unloading all our stuff. We do not store it in front of our home.

It took about 4 hours of soaking wet sweat to unload 4 months of stuff. I hurt so badly and needed a shower so bad. But, doing this is a requirement to the end of glamping. So we unloaded as much as we could. Put stuff everywhere.

Then, when we just could not lift anymore, we drove it to our storage unit, which happily is down the street. We parked it, said our goodbyes, and came home.

We took showers, and when we were together, we were not hungry, so we shared a can of soup.

It was a great summer. we covered a lot of places and saw our friends and family.

We tried to find our bathroom stuff so we could get ready to relax in bed and pass out.

Tomorrow, we will have to dump the bags and figure out what goes where. Then, figure out the boxes of food we got from the Amish. We look at the prices we paid and it’s really remarkable.

Well. Our 2023 travel summer blog is over. But don’t be disappointed.

On Sept 8th, we are leaving for a resort in gatlingburg TN.

Thank you so much for hanging out with me for the summer.. honestly, I’m humbled by the support. I hope I gave you a smile if I did that. I’m glad.

Take care, be safe, and enjoy!

  2. Wow — September 8th is just a few days away. You come home only to repack and get going again. It must feel good to be back home but you are just busy getting ready to go again. I’m exhausted thinking about it. But I do love Gatlinburg — haven’t been there in years. Your travels always sound interesting.
